Venue for the Proms is the
delightful setting of Sir
Goldsworthy Gurney's
historic castle in Bude
As the sun starts shining and the evenings get longer, we all start to think about summer and, of course, Proms in the Park! Once again this now annual event will be at the Castle Grounds, Bude, this year on Saturday 5th July at 7.30.
There is an excellent line up with Launceston Town Band, Mike Quartermain and for the first year Friggin’Riggin' joining the fun. This promises to be another superb evening enjoyed by a large number of locals and visitors alike. I do hope you will be able to join us.
For the last two years Sound Waves South West have kindly helped with financing this event. Sadly they have decided that they cannot be involved any more so the Proms is in even more need of financial support. I have decided to put this event on this year myself, on a no profit basis and will, in the event of there being insufficient funds to cover the costs, bear those costs myself. Obviously this is something I am really keen to avoid and am asking for your support.
There will be the usual programme for sale prior to and on the night of the Proms in which I would love people to advertise. This programme has proven to be very popular over the last four years and receives very good reviews and I understand good response for businesses who advertise there. If you would like to advertise in this programme please do contact me.
Alternatively if you are interested in sponsoring the event and would like to make a donation please do let me know. Any donation is gratefully received however large or small, and all of this goes directly to the Proms itself andnowhere else.
If a loss does occur this year then I will not be in a position to continue with the Proms and I fear Bude will lose a very well loved annual event thereafter. Consequently I would be really grateful if you could find time to seriously consider either advertising or sponsoring this year’s Proms so that we can put this event in the Bude calendar for years to come.
I very much hope that you will be able to join in with this Bude event and look forward to hearing from you and seeing you on the night.
